If your family members find themselves happily exhausted from all the hiking, fishing, boating, cycling and swimming they have done at Banks Lake and the surrounding areas, Sunbanks Resort has the perfect activity. We specialize in family fun, and our 18-hole miniature golf course is proof of that commitment. The whole family can wind down with relaxing fun as they putt and play on our beautiful course.
Younger kids can learn the basics of golf while the adults practice their putting skills. At only $4 per person, our miniature golf is one of the most affordable Washington outdoor activities available at Sunbanks Resort. The course is located just north of the Lake View Villas and stays open until dusk. In addition, Sunbanks Resort is currently making improvements to its current playground, with an emphasis on safety in the redesign. Kids can enjoy forts, a slide and more when the new playground is completed in Spring 2009.
Summer is winding down, but one of Washington’s most exciting events is just around the corner. The semi-annual Sunbanks Rhythm & Blues Festival is September 10-13, and you won’t want to miss a full weekend of rockin’ blues! Whether you choose to sit by a campfire, dance by the stage or relax in the lush green grass of the playfield, you’ll wish the good times would never end. Conveniently located at Sunbanks Resort, you can make reservations to camp or stay in a cabin or villa during the festival.
Don’t miss performers like Cee Cee James, Too Slim & the Taildraggers, Ty Curtis Band, Jason Ricci and more from around the state and country at the Sunbanks Rhythm & Blues Festival. Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, this festival has been awarded Best Blues Festival in the Northwest two years in a row! It’s one of the only Eastern Washington festivals you can enjoy twice a year, every year. If you can’t make it this fall, be sure to make your reservations early for the next festival in May.

I don’t know about you, but everyone I know LOVES Aplets and Cotlets. If you’re not familiar, Aplets & Cotlets are Liberty Orchards’ oldest and best known products. These two types of confection are mainly sold together in a single box; they are produced from a recipe for locoum using local apples and apricots.
One summer, on our way to an Eastern Washington resort, my family and I went on a tour of the Liberty Orchards factory (Liberty Orchards is the company that manufactures Aplets and Cotlets). Aside from the Tillamook factory in Oregon, it was easily one of the most fun, and delicious, tours I’ve ever been on.
No trip to Grand Coulee would be complete without a stop at the Grand Coulee Dam. One of the summer highlights is the evening laser light show at Dam that is projected onto the dam’s wall.
The area around the dam has an abundance of camping options, including cabins, villas, resorts and setting up your own tent. Banks Lake campgrounds located around Banks Lake also offer many recreational options such as boating, fishing, kayaking as well..
